En un lugar de la Mancha, de cuyo nombre no quiero acordarme....
So that is how the novel "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha" starts. It tells the adventures of the errant-knight Don Quijote, that formerly was Alonso Quijana o Quesada and became crazy because of reading so many books about chivalry. Along with him is Sancho Panza, the voide of logic and his faithful sidekick. "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha" is considered as the first modern novel and work of fiction in Western culture, and certainly the most influential non-religious book of all time. Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra invented, in this book, concepts like the sidekick, the comic relief, the ethical dilemma, the psychological perspective and the character development. The novel was recently voted The Greatest Book of All Time by the Nobel Institute (yes, the same one that concedes the Nobel prize). EAT THAT SHAKESPEARE! The importance of "Don Quijote" in the culture of mankind comes naturally, after all, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, after the Mandarin Chinese. In the pic, you have your favourite nutty as Don Quijote (Rodrigote)  mounting (no double entendre, plz) his faithful mare Kim. Rodrigote is followed closely by his sidekick Sancho Rufus, who himself is mounting his Ronkey. |

Well done, it's a beautiful drawing as usual. Very clever drawing, cause we're all used to see Kim like a centaur, but you managed to morph her with a horse, as well as Ron!!!
Now that's a great tribute to El Manco and to the Spanish tongue in general. I haven't read the Quixote, maybe some day I'll do it cause it's a must read for Spanish speakers.
Regarding the windmills... is that any metaphore in your own life?
